Prof. Msafiri Jackson
Msafiri M. Jackson is a Professor and the current Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Finance, and Administration) of Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology whose headquarter is at Butiama, Mara, Tanzania. His academic background is in Process Engineering. Prior to his appointment to his current position, Prof. Jackson was the Principal of the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences of the University of Dodoma.
Before joining UDOM, Msafiri Jackson served as Director of Quality Assurance Bureau of Ardhi Universty from 2010 to 2014. Over the years, Prof. Jackson has occupied various administrative posts including being a Head of Academic Department (1998-2000), Faculty Dean (2000-2003), Ag. College Registrar and Deputy Principal (Academic Affairs) (2002-2004) of the former University College of Lands and Architectural Studies (UCLAS) of the University of Dar-es-Salaam.
Earlier on, in his career, Msafiri also worked with Tanzania Industrial Research and Development Organization (TIRDO) as a Research and Development Engineer in the Department of Chemical and Food and Mlingano Agricultural Training Institute as Trainee Instructor in the Department of Agro-Mechanization. Msafiri Jackson holds BSc (Process Engineering), University of Dar es Salaam, (1986) with Tanzania Government Scholarship; MSc (Chemical Engineering), University of Leeds, U.K.(1990) with Commonwealth (UK) Scholarship; and PhD in Environmental Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, U.S.A (1997) with USAID Scholarship.
