Prof. M. T. Leshabari
Prof. Leshabari is an Associate Professor in Health Psychology and has been in the university since 1978. He served as Director of the then Institute of Public health for six years and the Dean of the School of Public Health and Social Sciences for three years. Before becoming Director of the Institute of Public Health, Prof. Leshabari was the Head of the Department for six years. He has also held various leadership positions in Tanzania and East Africa including the President of the East African Public Health Association and the Chairman of the Public Health Association of Tanzania.
He is the current Chairman of the Board of the Regional Center for Quality of Health Care in Eastern Africa. Prof. Leshabari has been involved in various research activities and published widely. His key areas of research interest include adolescent sexuality, HIV and key populations, motivation and health human resources and psychosocial factors associated with health and illness.
