The National Science and technology for Tanzania was formulated in 1985. At the time micro economic policies and strategies were based on own ownership. Since then because of the own structural adjustments policies, quite a number of changes has taken place. Privatization of the major activities of the economy was done, and hence the various sectors have also oriented their policies and strategies to accommodate these national policy changes.
