Bsc, MSc. Forestry (SUA), PhD Ethnobotany (UDSM). Currently a research fellow at the Institute of Traditional Medicines-Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. Specialized in Forest management & Mensuration and Ethnobotany. Main duties at the institute includes ethnobiomedical surveys, identification and medicinal plant conservation, Herbarium data management, agronomic and plant breeding research, consultancy and teaching of post graduate students. Have short term specialized training in Research Methodology. Effective Project Planning and Evaluation in Biomedical Research. Herbarium Management and Plant Identification, Biodiversity Information Sharing policy and IT technology and IPR issues. Have published 6 articles in retrievable proceedings, 20 papers in regional and international peer reviewed journals, book chapters and technical reports. Currently is pursuing Post Doc training on Identification and monitoring the trade in Tanzanian wild-harvested medicinal plants by means of genomics-based DNA barcoding, This is a sandwich programme between the University of Leiden and MUHAS
